EVO #502 Stg 2 w/GT30R

Here's another one of the Stg 2 cars that we recently finished. On 91oct, it made 320whp @ 21psi. It came back today for its 100oct map and did quite well. 405whp at 27psi of boost. The car is running 280/280 cams, gears (-1,-1) and a full exhaust with test pipe.

WHP and Torque:

Boost and AFR:

The test drive in the pouring rain was the highlight of my day And yes, this car makes the 996tt feel like a hyundai tiburon.

I'll have to dig it up. But, on 91oct, there is no comparison. A IX, with just a full exhaust and a reflash, will dominate the power-under-the-curve test hands down. Big turbos only make big sense on race gas when that extra 100bhp tends to make up for the extra 1000rpm of lag.

have you guys figured out wether it is the turbo or the MIVEC that has such a drastic affect on the evo 9?

what a/r is that gt30r...??? is it your signature kit, or someone elses? seeing that 30r building boost by 4k rpm is looking pretty sick...!!! could one expect close to those same numbers as the 100oct run with 91+alky...???

It's our basic Stg 2 kit. Using the factory twin scroll manifold is a big advantage when it comes to spool up. We've seen 300-400rpm reductions in spool over a tubular header. The dyno shows a 9 second 3rd gear pull. On the road, in 5th gear on the highway, the car will make a full 27th by 3800rpm.

It's both. MIVEC tends to improve spool-up by several hundred RPM and greatly improve both low end and midrange power. While the turbo helps top end power in a big way.

as long as you dont plan to road race.. even the website itself states not to road race or track that turbo as there is massive compressor surge issues with it.

i thought that was the evo8-20g the new evo9-20g is supposed to have no compressor surge at all. the 9 compressor housing is suppose to be big enough to prevent the surge from happening.

ps is your car back running again? last i seen u it was gettin a new tranny.

+1. im trying to decide between the evo9-20g and the gt3076r. i would be running both on 91oct and alky. if a car had the same mods and drive, only thing different was the turbo, which one would perform better in 1/4 mile and 40mph rolls?

Was this a 100 or VP 109 (r=m/2 = 105) tune?

The 91 seems about right, but 85 from 9 octane points seems a little high.

100 oct sounds about right on a strong car. Dynojet #s would put this car at 465+ IMO. I did 390 whp on his Shiv's "Uranus" Dyno on 100 oct and that put out 450whp on a Dynojet at TT(460 spike on one pull). Jay some cars are just stronger than others for some reason. VP 109 would likely yield 30+ more on his dyno and this car would likely be up over or close to 500 whp on a Dynojet. According to Shiv, my car had a lil more to get me into the 500 whp club, but being that the "Joint Venture" contract had too many loopholes in it ,I decide to stay at 494 whp.
