A little OT:

Paul, do you happen to know Louie G. from Speed World Challenge? Owns LG Motorsports. He's a friend of my pops.

getting back on topic,

how much is this going to cost me?

1) revalving to the latest spec
2) general servicing (regreasing, bushing and seal replacement)

^^^ I am curious if the Ohlins they are spec-ing are gonna need rebuilds every year, or if they are more of a "Road Damper" that will take a couple of years between rebuilds...how much and how often are good questions, IMHO.

ANY word yet on pricing for the initial purchase, yet? Hello?

my Ohlins have been abused hard for aproximately 18 months now, well over 35k miles. This was with a full season with a co-driver when autocrossing.

Every coilover shock will have to be rebuilt at somepoint. The key is how long (and how well) will the shock operate through out is service lifetime, and how often do you need to rebuild them.

True but John sells Ohlins as well and they are up the food chain on his site as well right?. The Ohlins are very good because of what's inside, they are very consistent from shock to shock more so than anything we've had on the dyno and that is what puts them in a higher league than typical shocks. There are also many cool upgrades for the Ohlins, the same bits and pieces that we use on the World Challenge GT Volvos (yes the R&Ts can accept many of the internals from their higher dollar 2, 3 and 4 way products). When dialed in they give you the consistent performance of a shock costing much more. We are constantly trying more pieces to keep the development going all built around the R&T because for it's price it's the best out there. That's how we get it to handle great on the track and ride so well too (don't discount the street ride factor!).

Sort of, we talked before the Denver race, he was a little miffed that the Flying Bread Box (AKA the Volvo) out qualified him Hopefully I'll get to know him better this year

The Ohlins are tough, we use the seals over and over again doing all the re-valves my car has gone through, like I brought up in my previous post it's what's inside that counts You can easily feel one click on these things so if a shock was bad you would know right away, just haven't felt it yet

I certainly agree they're higher on the food chain. My only point was don't dismiss the Buddy Clubs out of hand simply because they're Buddy Clubs. Besides, my heart is with the Ohlins myself.

All this talk about creamy smooth ride, responsiveness, durability, and the ability they will imbue me with to get chicks is making me sad...soon I will have to give up on Vishnu and look for another way to get a "Gerrard spec" Ohlins set up for baby.

Size 7, size 11, Redwings boot box? How big here? And I am not sending anybody anything before I get confirmation about being imbued with the getting chicks thing!

Seriously, just killing time until Vishnu gets some pricing...

Chronohunter...I did talk to Vishnu about the set up you and I discussed for my application (350f/450r, sways f&r, camber plates...check old pm's for memory jog) and they were wanting to put 450/550 and no (or rear only?) bars.

I think that I might just shove a box of money at you...

Ohlins

With my Vishnu/Gerard revalving I'm now backed off 3 clicks front and rear from the "track" setting with 450f/550r springs. Guess I'll try 3 more clicks but it seems that may be too soft?? I live near Morgan Territory Road which is a great canyon road but has some serious dips where can I drag my front lip pretty hard. Just the 3 clicks made a big change, seems to work the street tires better. FWIW I don't think the 450/550 spring combo is offensive at all on the street. May even get my wife to ride in it again, since it rides a lot better than a stocker

come on, it's a no brainer, what chick wouldn't want a "creamy smooth ride"
Lets stick to the plan about your particular set-up. It sounded like the very best street ride was your priority with the track performance being secondary.

Sorry about the wait guys, I promise it will be worth it

I love that road I ripped it once in the shop car when I first met Shiv, it convinced me that the shop car would be competitive for an overall win at One Lap of America (and it did indeed win events overall on its way to a fourth overall and a class win). Bill try going one click at a time softer till you can feel the car lose it's "platform" it'll hang in there for a few more clicks, trust me

oh and go run that road for me especially further up where it's blind, wet and narrow (good times, good times!)
