Shiv, when is the Xede gonna have a USB connection instead of serial?? With serial gettin phased out, I think it should be soon, plus, I wanna get a new laptop and not have to use a serial to usb converter.

Um, Vishnu doesn't build the Xede hardware. If memory serves, neither does Chiptorque. From what I know about the Xede innards, it would be _way_ more trouble than it is worth to add a USB 1.1 compliant bus.

Yeah... i'm afraid it's easier to buy a $10 USB adapter and to redesign the XEDE hardware to support USB. It's something that we may consider down the line when its time for a complete redesign. But for now, we don't see it happening.

With a serial you can screw it in for a permanent mounting. USB is just a friction connection. Serial will prevail for now.
