Bigger cams will generally hurt your spoolup, unless you dial them in with cam gears to get early boost (which will leave you with less topend). However, bigger cams will also extend your powerband (no more choking after 5500 rpms).

IMO your best option will be to shoot for a stage 1+ (aka V390), meaning cam gears, cams and a flash. I had that setup for over a year and was VERY happy with it. It was a night and day difference when compared to a stock Evo.

One thing to keep in mind ... with you being in MN ... what do you plan on doing to keep from overboosting in winter?

Thanks for the opinion.......well....that pretty much is what I would have guessed. Thanks....in regard to overboosting I am not boosting past 21lbs right now (which is were my Hallman is set) according to the stock boost gauge....should I dial it back a bit? I am not driving the car hard at this time....thanks again

Boost level is just something to keep an eye on. With my v390 setup, I would boost to a 23 psi peak in the summer, but would then start to hit 25+ psi when it got colder. If you end up going with an Xflash, this is probably something you'll want to talk to Vishnu about, because if you plan on keeping your MBC, then you probably don't need the full Xflash. And no matter what, you will want some mechanism to keep your boost in check (MBC, XEDE, and/or keep the stock ECU fuel/boost cuts in place).

My guess is the car leaned out because of the stock fuel pump, he abanded the custome tune and put in a base chart with some mods....the man can tune but his bedside manner just didn't work for me.....I don't think I want to go stand alone, I guess I am kind of between a 360/390 Vishnu tune. Thanks for any info..

Do you really need a fuel pump with so few mods? You have TBE and a K&N filter and the stock pump was not adequate!!! I find that very odd. Does the MBC require an updated fuel pump?

I am no expert but was told by Dynoflash during my tune that there is a small amount of stock fuel pumps that simply do not flow enough when setting up a tune. Mine was one of them. It is a good safety feature as well. I think the quality is better and the flow rates are 180lpm compared to 255lpm. I think those numbers are right.

I ran into problems with just an XEDE and a TBE. After about 5 laps around the track I was suddenly seeing EGT spikes. Walboro 255 completely solved this problem
