Question XEDE changes with HKS DLI II AND coil-on-plug ignition?

If I add HKS DLI II (I have this now), AND Bushur coil-on-plug set up, is there anything I have to do to the XEDE? Ignition maps? as I will be running a hotter spark, thru the NGK "8" plugs. Or just run it like usual? Thanks for the advice.

I want to have a good spark, and if the coils tend to go bad with the higher miles, I want to be ready BEFORE the coils become a problem. Or should I just get new OEM coils when it becomes time to. (I have 56K miles on the car now.)

If the DLI II is working properly, you shouldn't have to make any mapping changes. I've tuned a few cars with them and, as far as I can tell, they didn't result in any improvements. Then again, the stock coils weren't misfiring in those cars.

You think it IS my coils still? Hence the "then again" comment? I will be swapping them out tomorrow as well! Have a couple evos comming down with Known good coils. Will keep you posted.

Bad ECU? IMHO, that could explain the clicking behind the glove box, and the persistant misfire...
just a thought.

Anyone know where to get a new one? They are CAR specific I know that! (programmed in via VIN #)?!

I thought the clicking was the normal Xede thing.

Never heard that before (it being normal), mine started not long ago! Nothing in the XEDE can CLICK, the harness can, I guess.

In another thread smokedmustang said the clicking was still there when he took the XEDE out.

The clicking that people report hearing isn't the Xede itself, but the boost solenoid. The Xede powers it will a duty cycle between 0 and 100%. So at 50% it's clicking "open"/"closed" rapidly so it behaves kind of like it is "half closed". Of course this noise comes from the _engine bay_, not the glove box area.

pretty sure when mine clicks it is the relay on the harness (which is required to present an inductive load to the ECU so it does not throw a solenoid-no-worky code) - i have an early harness without the fancy epoxy injection to silence it

Is this the constant ticking when under moderate boost or the transitional trick that happens when you go from vacuum to boost or vise versa?

ps- sorry to sidetrack the thread. we'll be back on topic momentarily.

It happens when I am lets say comming up to a light, and foot off the gas, "revving down", (NOT downshifting, but coasting in gear, until It almost stalls) enough time to have it clicking for a while!)I know it is comming from the "boxes", or something in there, as it happens with the fan on or off. That is when I hear it. Dont know if I hear it other times, as it is TOO loud in the car. I have my glovebox OFF, and can always hear it. I took the glovebox off, because I heard it with the glovebox on, and wanted to see where it was coming from.
