Burnt PCB Component

I pulled out my XEDE and wiring harness as it was giving me problems I couldn't understand. After examination, I noticed a burnt PCB component and thought it may have been the source of my problem. So, I sent it along with my XEDE (to upgrade) in to Vishnu and noted the burnt component. My XEDE was returned and to my surprise, the wiring harness was returned to me with the same burnt PCB component.

I am hesitant about reinstalling it into my EVO because the potential for subsequent damage is high.

Am I being over cautious here??

Now I am not using this forum to point fingers and make a big deal out of this so please don't take it that way.

Don't sweat it. That hole is intentional. All harness for the last several months have them. We make it so we can fill up that relay with hot glue. This is to subdue the clicking sound it would otherwise make. That relay is only there for the stock computer's boost controller to drive so that it doesn't throw a boost solenoid code.

Cheers,

My Xede is old school/pre-glue. I'm so used to that clicking sound that it reassures me when I am driving.

Understand. Thanks for the explanation.

Now I can put back in my XEDE that has been very much missed!
