new xede boost issue

I finally have this xede installed with smart. seems to be working. I check the live data viewer and an1 a/f seems to be dead on, an(knock buffer) hovers around 14 at idle and up to 23-26 at a standstill at 6500k rpms. not sure if there was anything else to do with the blue/white wires, I just ziptied them under the dash, but now to my real question...

I had a mbc and tossed all the original vacuum lines. I have both of the pills. one is really small, the other is a little bigger. I managed to get the boost lines hooked up correctly with the help of a few of you on here but my boost continues up to 25-27psi with no hint of slowing down. I can hear the xede doing it's thing, but it's not controlling it. I know that it's wired correctly, checked that first thing.

my questions are 2- does the size of the vacuum lines matter? and does anyone know which boost pill to use? I chose the larger of the 2, as it fit into the lines I am using. I don't think that my autometer boost gauge is off by that much, and it's wired correctly to the intake/fpr hose.

thoughts?

really want to hit wot with this new system

am thinking that my only choice may be to go to the stealership and order all new hoses..

The size of the lines do matter, but not that much. The pill to use, at the turbo, is the tapered diffuser looking one. Make sure to have the bigger orfice of the restrictor facing the turbo.

The small one is the solenoid pill.

If it was facing the wrong way you would have less boost. I would try another boost gauge (know to be accurate) just to confirm the accuracy of yours. If you have no one local w/ another gauge, then buy a $20 from Grainger or McMaster-Carr. They state an accuracy of the gauge on the page.

I had a Defi gauge that read 3 psi high atone time. That was a very fustrating time .

I think that boost is TOO high! Is it a stock turbo? the effective range of the stocker is 22-23psi Max. however, it would be in its ineffective range, and be out of breath. I believe the "pills" have a right orientation, and a wrong one. I can't help you on this one, just make sure it is oriented correctly.

will play around with it. it's the stock turbo, with a 10.5 and ebay o2 housing. I don't think that my autometer is off, but you never know. maybe the wastegate isn't opening?

I really can't help you on this one, but I DO KNOW, that the boost is too high for a stocker! Don't know what the consequences are for the high boost, but I would lower it!

Small pill goes in the long skinnier vacuum line that goes from the "T" to the boost control solenoid. Towards the solenoid end. Not sure of the orientation though as I usually pull them out with my teeth...

Big pill goes in the short, thicker vacuum line between the "T" and the lower IC pipe just aft of the turbo outlet (boost source).
