target a/f ratios

I have started to learn how to tune the xede. finally have most of the boost spike gone. now time to start looking for the extra power that I know is there. I have the innovate xd-1 gauge on my dash. I notice that with a wot 3rd gear pull, af's are between 8.5 and 9, all the way to 7k. seems a little too rich?

is there a way to log this by rpm with xede/smart and how to go about adjusting it?

thanks

I think you need to re-calibrate your gauge. 8.5:1 would cause the car to not accelerate and bog down. Trust me I know

The SMART fuel map is where you look for the AFR's vs/ RPM data. Use the SMART instructions to calculate the AFR of the Y-axis.

I see that there is a program called commslog. am going to try that and see what my actual a/f ratio is and go from there.

hopefully the commslog will read data from the innovate wideband..

I believe PyXEDE will give you AFR w/o any conversion. I think Commslog requires a conversion factor.

Have you done a trace of the SMART Fuel map? If it stays in the happy zone (follows the zero line), during a 3rd gear pull, then you are fine.

Do you have a screen shot of the SMART Fuel map? A couple cells above the zero line isn't bad. It just means SMART is adding some fuel. Now if the trace was going near the top of the map or bottom, then you would need to make some changes in the Fuel map.
