Overboosting?

I have a stg 0+ w/ a test pipe with a 91 oct base map. I recently noticed that my boost is spiking at around 23 psi, and from what I've gathered, it should be much closer to 21. My question is, in what columns should I remove boost? From 3500rpms and up? Or just somewhere in the midrange where it is spiking? Since the boost tapers naturally anyway, should I not remove any boost in the upper rpms?

Also, I'm sure this is kind of a stupid question, but when we're talking about xxPSI, generally speaking that is in third gear, but it is normal to see more boost in 4th and 5th where the car is under more load, correct? Thanks is advance.

Leave the 100% region alone as the boost is already limited at that point. I normally modify the region from 2000 through 5000 RPM and above 40% load.

Yes in 4th and 5th you will see higher boost pressure. You might want to test in 4th gear before calling it quits for the day as you might find a further reduction in duty cycle is required.

Freedom, I am extremly impressed with your general knowledge and willingness to help out others. How's the boost compensation coming along? Are they still considering selling it through Vishnu? What would estimate the approximate cost per unit?

Anyway, what should I look for when checking in 4th gear? Should I still be trying to keep it under 21psi, or is it ok to boost slightly more in the higher gears? Thanks for the help and making evom what it is.

A number of units have been sold based upon long standing contact. Vishnu's position at this time is they are too busy with the conditional firmware upgrade to deal with the module at the same time. As such Shiv suggested moving forward without waiting for them. That said Shiv picked up a few modules for their own use.

I have been too busy to put together a polished post on the subject but they are $50 for the first 15 units sold (introduction price) and $100 there after. When Vishnu markets the units they will be sold at the $100 price.

To be honest I get the car into 4th gear, go WOT and see where the peak pressure is. It is difficult to get anyone to tell you the maximum pressure as that depends on many factors. But if you are running Shiv's maps unmodifed there is normally safety margin in place such that if you are not running into a boost driven fuel cut you are ok. That said if you want to hold to 21 PSI no one should think anything about that.

I have my car setup to run just below the ECU's boost cut point in 4th/5th gear.
