Why is everyone selling their XEDE?

Hey VISHNU crowd, I am a diehard VISHNUphile, and I am looking at the XEDE w/SMART very seriously, but I am a little worried about all the sales of used XEDE's.

Why would anybody want to get rid of such a great product? Or are they pushing the piggyback to the limit and are looking for a standalone?

I am sure some of it is from people selling there 8s for a 9, or a different car all together.

The XEDE is the most popular user-tunable engine control system currently available for the EVO. So there are more of them out there than anything else. Probably by a factor of 10. So its certainly normal to see a very small percentage of them up for sale. Most of the used XEDEs I see for sale are because the user is selling their car and/or reverting back to stock. I know of very few XEDEs that have been replaced for a stand-alone or other engine control device. There are a few but the numbers are tiny considering the thousand or so EVO XEDEs out there. It's one of the things we're quite proud of over here.

Besides... you can't sell your used reflash, can you?

people are selling the xedes so people like me can buy them from the wrong guy and end up with the boost controller wires clipped off the xede.
small price to pay for a great pnp
PS thanks vishnu for helping me fix my xede, had it of been another company i would bet that i would be left in the dust.

the main reason i see peopel selling xedes is due to inability to hook it up. Im not sure why as it honestly is not that difficult a process. I have hooked up at least 10 in my day. and i have liek 0 technical knowledge.

...Not a lick of grammatical knowledge either. Look at that post sir.

I reformatted, and the problem is better, but it sticking around for the long haul. You were right, everything is 10 times more difficult than it should be when you are living the life of Dustin.

Sold mine because I sold the VIII and everything that I had in/on it - Plus I knew I was going to have Shiv tune my IX through a Flash

Additional info - had the XEDE about 2 years with NO issues; I highly recommend it
