I do it and it works all the time. I think the failed to boot might of happened to me like three times for the two years I owned the Xede. I think I can live with that.

I have used the ECU+ and I must say that I am very impressed with many of it's features. Very intuitive and its nice to have such great logging built right in. The realtime graphing is a HUGE help as well, especially for the knock voltage as you can see the problematic areas (and cells which are highlighted as you move through the logs as well). I also like the variables such as total timing, injector duty, AFR *CONVERTED* to actual AFR instead of arbitrary numbers, etc. Basically, I would love to have the excellent functionality of the Xede with the vastly superior user interface/data aquisition of the ECU+.

Also, for you people who never recalibrate, you should DEFINITELY do it more often. My LC-1 always shows the correct closed loop numbers, but if I don't calibrate mine about once a week, my WOT values start to shift. I'd say that if I go a month without recalibrating, the WOT AFRS reported are a good .5-.7 leaner than they really are. Obviously I always recalibrate immediately before I begin any kind of tuning....but its good to keep up on the calibration so that your SMART fueling is seeing the correct values. Finally, the calibration of the innovative products is there more for the accounting of the wear on the pump and other systems that gradually wear with the sensor. If you read the literature included, you'll see that they recommend frequent calibrations for this very reason.

Haha, I had a failed boot on my Xede at the drag strip...interesting experience

Thats very interesting, my Wideband shows the same AFR under WOT as at did when I first installed it. I do my logging with LogWorks.

Idem...I also use all 3 components of SMART.

Yeah, I do my AFR logging with log works as well and my AFR changes when I do a recalibration and goes right back to what it's always been afterwards. Maybe its just me and my car

I've had ther XEDE (w/o smart) in 2 EVOs over the last 2 years. I wonder if I ever had the "failed boot" event with my XEDE..... How would I know if it did not boot?
My XEDE is not visible and there are no indicator lights or gauges of any kind to monitor it's performace.....

Yes, I use the entire SMART system, I just have the maps better suited to my particular setup and flash.

A failed boot will give you wastegate boost pressure if you have the Xede setup to control boost.

You'd know because your car would only make ~12psi of boost.
