How can I tell If I have one? I have an 04...that I bought in late '04. From what I hear, Mitsu switched over from the 9.8 sometime in the middle of '04 production. Is there any way to tell what I have other than to start tearing things out of the car in order to physically look at it? Will the VIN tell me anything?

 

All '04 models have 9.8. The evo 8 did switch to 10.5 in 2004, but it was for a '05 model year.

I'm pretty sure that '04 models made after a certain date were equipped with the 10.5 hotside. Someone here has to know for certain!!
