Smile Xede - Configure Timing Signal dissappear

I am starting to not like this Xede V3.2 - I don't care about SMART, I like V2 better. However, now that the firmware is complete, there is no turning back.
My timing signal was set to Even4 for Mitsubishi, I reburn map to be sure it sticks, and BOOM, a week goes by then recheck maps, timing signal blank - have to reset it from none to Even 4..... What gives? Another bug? First it is "maps aren't the same", now losing timing signal? Do I even need the right timing signal or will blank work?

Can someone answer my boost question also - I don't use SMART, so do I zero out my SMART boost table or leave it populated? I control boost witha greddy profec and solenoid.

Of course you can go back. All you have to do is flash the v2 firmware, then load a v2 map.

My timing signal was set to Even4 for Mitsubishi,
I'm wasn't the best mathematician in my dept, but I'm pretty sure that 4 is always even. I don't know what this means.

I reburn map to be sure it sticks, and BOOM, a week goes by then recheck maps, timing signal blank - have to reset it from none to Even 4..... What gives? Another bug?
A number of things _could_ be happening here. Most likely, you aren't correctly uploading and burning to ROM. That second step is very important. It is possible that the firmware wasn't updated correctly and there's a chance, though unlikely that you're Xede unit is faulty. Is this happening on both map banks.

First it is "maps aren't the same",
Are you using a USB-serial converter?

now losing timing signal?
You're not losing your timing signal, you're losing the values that you put in the timing table. If you didn't get a timing/CAS signal, then the car would not run.

Do I even need the right timing signal or will blank work?
You have to be careful with your wording here. You're table is all zeros. That is not the same as blank. Yes, all zeros means operate exactly the same as stock.

Can someone answer my boost question also - I don't use SMART, so do I zero out my SMART boost table or leave it populated? I control boost witha greddy profec and solenoid.
If you're not using the Xede's boost control, then it doesn't matter what you put in that table -- it's not used.

Thanks for the answers. I still have anxiety about the timing signal being left blank - this is in the Configure Timing Signal option in the V3.2 menu. If I leave it blank and don't select the Even4 selection, does it effect performance? I guess I don't understand the relationship between the timing map, and the timing signal defined in the setup menu?

The timing signal is not left blank in the XEDE. The window you are looking at is just to upload a new timing signal. It will not display the timing signal that is currently configured in your XEDE. If the car runs, you have the right timing signal in there. It's as simple as that. But if you still, for some reason, want to see what timing signal is loaded into your XEDE, go to the diagnostic menu and click on XEDE information. It will tell you.
