The XEDE will work without a hitch. However, the baseline maps are designed for US mapping. JDM ecus are mapped differently from what i can tell. I have the jdm ecu maps available so I could whip up some good baseline maps that you can start from.

Ditto me as my ECU probably has different maps than the USDM´s as well, since it was ordered and delivered in Latin America and has the same maps as JR´s car(Both were ordered through the same dealership).

We´re assuming that the ECU comes from the factory programmed with the JDM parameters, however there is no proof of whether they are set up same as JDM or perhaps even Euro models. For example mine and JR´s come equipped with the antilag plumbing, are RS models with TiAl 9.8 hotsided turbos, and are tuned for 95 RON gasoline.

I need to send my ECU in to have Vishnu do an XEDE Flash and injector scaling. Maybe at that time Shiv would be so kind as to sort out the pedigree of our ECU´s so that we can have some more precisely tailored XEDE maps. It would be a great help to us.

if this is true iam buying my v390kit,vishnu products have a good reputation, iam about to go to europe for the next couple of months so i want to buy my kit as soon as possible also i imported my car to orlando where it will be kept but i need to confirm if the maps from the site work with my car??
remeber 2005model japanese evo8 and as stated in the brochure 9.8hotside with different internals from the USAmodel!
also if i buy kit what maps do i use 03/04maps or 05maps??

HEY THERE nice to see you have an evo8 jdm model as well!
i talked to shiv and he told me i could use the maps from the site also shiv is the tuner from vishnu and he said to me that he has the jdm maps on his hands and that they are very similar to the usamodels!
i also have a 2005model with 9.8hotside and tial internals, this is the only diff i see with the usaevo8 which has the 10.5hotside!
also ive tried both maps on my car the 03/04maps and the 05maps and this is how ive done it:
since we aint got a dyno i need to race against another car to see whats going on with power of my car so i raced i freind whom has an m3 eurospec e36 which is modified and this was the outcome:
1st race from a roll in 1st gear starting at 30mph and ending at 125mph with the 03/04maps he pulled on me 2 car lengths we did this race several 3 times and it had the same outcome!
2nd race from a roll in 1st gear starting at 30mph and ending at 125mph but this tme with the 05maps i pulled on him 2 car lenghts so i gained 4 car lenghts
this was the same day, hour ext temp,i just swithced maps ok...
so my car is faster with 05maps this is a v360kit!
03/04 maps afr's from 3500rpm-7000rpm are 10.9-11.5 in redline at 7000+rpm afr's are 11.7-11.8
05 maps afr's from 3500-7000rpm are 11.4-11.7 in redline at 7000+rpm they afrs go as lean as 11.9-12.2

i have bought a pocket logger which i will be using to datalog tiiming and compare both maps i will send the info to dustin or shiv and see if the maps are working fine or which map is the best but for right know the 05maps in my car makes it faster but i dont know if iam pulling timing but dont worry all vishnu maps from the site are very conservative but i hope this long post helps you out!
buy the v390!!! see yaa

The Vishnu XEDE piggyback computer, works splendidly on my non-USDM 2004 EVO RS, which was purchased in Central America, and differs from the USDM versions in having a 9.8 hotsided, TIAl turbo , as well as an anti-lag system. Although, to what extent my car's ECU programming resembles or differs from the ECU's in USDM, JDM, European , Asian-market and UK version Evo's...I have no clue. But, the XEDE just hooks right up w/o any interface issues. It is totally turn-key.

Like I said, the XEDE works on my car w/o a hitch. I just download the standard USDM maps right off the Vishnu website and my car runs fine. And what's more, my car's mod list is not a standard Vishnu stage package, yet even so, the car runs just fine, not a hitch, nary a belch or a hiccup.

We installed it in 1/2 an hour. Downloaded the maps off the site while standing out in the street via a wireless conection, uploaded the map to my car in another 5 minutes. Then we fired the car up.....perfect idle, without any driveability problems, whatsoever.

BTW, Shiv Patek, is the founder, head tuner and driving force behind Vishnu. My friend JR called him and asked about the JDM maps and the differences re. the USDM maps. Shiv, who has the OEM JDM maps onhand said that they were almost identical to the USDM maps, from a tuner's point of view.

I know that when I was shopping for a piggyback ECU I considered the ECU+, and the SAFCII as well as the simple mail-in flash, finally opting for the XEDE. I am happy as can be with the XEDE. Hope this helps. Good luck!
