https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...osition+sensor that guy seems to be having the exact same problems as I do. I hear the same metallic sound as he did. I dunno what to do, but I hope someone does.

Have you, by any chance, unplugged or messed with your MAF connecter at any point in time? I once didn't have it plugged in all the way and it slowly worked its way loose. As soon as the connecter starts to lose contact, your engine will shut off. Happened to me at 70mph ... ugh ... but I unplugged it and plugged it _all_the_way_ back in and it was fine.

That's pretty crazy, Ludikraut. I've never had THAT happen. I have forgot to plug the MAF sensor back in and try to start the car..DOH!!!

I have not looked at that.

At the present time I have unplugged the XEDE and am running the car w/o it. This was through guidance from a tuner, he is on this site but I am not sure if he wants to be recognized. The car is running fine w/o the XEDE at the present time, but I am going to give a few more days before I contact Shiv and crew to send it back, as the XEDE might not be the problem. Thanks for the help everyone.

If it runs fine w/out the XEDE, then it's definitely not the MAF connector.

It is fine to mention me .....I am just trying to rule out different components
I remember Shiv posting about the Xede running an overheat protect and I guess it is quite toasty in MS..keep it unplugged like that for a few days and let me know of course I will look at it if you can get it to me

As of now the car is running fine, just kinda sucks w/ only 12PSI. Maybe the XEDE is the issue and needs to be *calibrated*. Time will tell whether or not it is the problem, I am going to leave it unplugged until around Monday. That will be about 500-700 miles later since I have to drive back to Augusta. Thanks again Andrew for the help, another reason why you and your shop are first on my list, and I will keep you informed on the outcome.

joseph -- I am quite certain you are having the over-temp protection triggered. When you mentioned you were getting 12 psi that was the clue. The Xede runs in pass-through mode with over-temp protection is triggered.

Oh, there is no reason to live it unplugged for 500+ miles. You really just need to cool the Xede off to get it to run correctly -- I actually removed mine from the car and put it in the AC of my home for about 30 minutes, put it back in the car and it started right up, ran like normal.

Just not really convenient since you do need to drive your car My recommendation, call the Vishnu boys on Monday and speak to Calivin or Dustin -- let em know you have sent your Xede in the mail to have the issue resolved. Be sure to include a note of what the issue is as well with the Xede.

I think you misunderstood me. The car will only boost to 12PSI now, w/ the XEDE unplugged. It ran like a champ w/ it in, except for the cutting off part. The overheating thing would make sense except it doesn't do it on all of the hot days. It shut off once on a hot day at a redlight, three times in one night about 75-80 degrees and one of those times I was driving, and once more yesterday while I was on the interstate in morning rush traffic @ about 75 degrees. I have never had to take it out to cool it off to get the car started again. I have had to wait a max of 15-20 mins on one occasion to get it started again. The other times it has started back up in as much time as it takes for a light to change to green, the first time it happend, and as long as it takes for the people at a drive thru to come back w/ your food after paying. There is no pattern of events, and leaving it out for 500+ miles is needed. The car has not done it the entire time I have owned it, since March, and only done it 5 times total and those have all been in the past month. Once on a hot *** midday drive, three times on a mild night, and once on a coolish morning. There has been as much as a week in between the times the car has cut off and as little as a few miles. Hopefully something good will come out of this and I am really glad this is not happening to anyone else, as it is a safety issue, it just kinda sucks being a guinea pig.

Oh, I didn't catch that. Sorry man -- it does suck to be the guinea pig. No fun, especially when you feel like you aren't getting anywhere closer to a solution.

Well, I am back in GA and the car has been running fine. I will contact Shiv and his people today to see what we can do about getting the XEDE checked out and fixed.
