Vishnu EVO IX XEDE upgrade
Vishnu EVO IX XEDE upgrade
I have just received the EVO IX upgrade for my IX MR. This was a Xede from my EVO III, it now has a new harness. Also my ECU was flashed by Vishnu.
First of all, this was better constructed connector, no more trying to jiggle little wires out of the main harness, and it was easy to connect, I really appreciate that.
However, I did not receive the passive boost solenoid with this kit, so the car has the OEM boost pill.
After I connected the flashed ECU and Xede, I found that the boost is limited to about 0.9 Bar while test driving.
The Xede show a constant green light.
Is this related to not having the Vishnu passive boost solenoid?
Does anyone have some idea about what may be the problem?
Thanks

removing pill
Hi:
1. After I got the ECU, XEDE back, I plug both in, without removing the pill, the XEDE showed a steady green light, the car started and ran without problem, but boost gauge showed a max of 0.8-0.9 Bar. 2 wks ago before I took out the ECU, it was showing about 1.1-1.2 Bar.
2. Subsequently, I have removed the boost pill from the hose that is toward the "FRONT" of the car, and I then reconnect the hose back to the OEM solenoid.
, disconnected the battery for 20 mins, restarted, car still boosting to 0.8-0.9 Bar
3. Then I removed the Xede, and just connected the ECU back by it self, disconnected the battery for 20 min, restarted, still boosting to 08-0.9 Bar.
4. Finally this morning, after the car sat with battery disconnected whole night, I plugged the ECU/XEDE back in, restarted, still boosting only 0.8-0.9 Bar.
I have examined the Xede unit, it appears all splices are connected, taped. And the boost pill is still out.
Can you ask Shiv what kind of map was loaded in the Xede? Because this car is acting like my EVO VIII when I do not have a map loaded in the Xede.
Is there a map I can try to load to the XEDE? I have a 2006 IX MR, with 3" TBE from Ultimate Racing.
Please help, thanks

The problem stems from granularity in boost control. Without a bleeder, it wouldn't register any wastegate actuation. But we got the problem figured out, and Cheng should be ready to rock in just a few days.
IX Xede upgrade
Thanks for Dustin and Shiv's help, the Xede is working in my IX MR.
All it took was adding a "bleeder" in line.
I am just using a generic map from Dustin, and the car feels great.
Thanks a lot.
