Really unlikely that these problems would crop up be themselves by sheer coincidence. The motor work had something to do with it. It really boils down to whether you want to find the root of the problem, fix it and then go back to what has worked for you in the past. Or just give up and do something else that may work for you. The Xede will make more power than the flash. Simple as that. It will also allow you to go back and forth between two maps on the fly. And run SMART. The flash will be simpler and perhaps more appropriate for simple upgrades. But you're already running a stroker and presumably a big turbo sometime soon. I know which one I'd choose. But its your decision.

well the situation comes down to is if you have problems with the xede there is one company that can fix it. unfortanly that company is many miles away. if a new harness was installed and a new xede was used and my car continued to idle strangely what else could it be. my car has no problems running with the ecu.

Sometimes it takes time to figure out issues. It's a process of elimination.

For example:

I am still dealing with a boost cut issue. (BTW, car ran flawlessly for a year) Found out, even though I have the XEDE flash, that the boost cut wasn't eliminated or raised. Just this Sat, Alfred tweaked some things, including fixing boost cut on the ECU. Took it out to do some runs with EvoScan. It boost cut once, and then didn't after that...however, later that night it boost cut in the cooler air. Next we'll check spark plugs and the electrical system. Diagnosing problems is going to take longer than 1 day sometimes.

Take it to Shiv and stop whining. He has the diagnostic setup and accument to work through this effectively, rather than random replies from the internet.

im sure the xede didnt just go bad, u said it worked fine before. a 2.3 doesnt make xede's break lol. something is messed up find the problem and let us know! stick with the xede, unbiased response, i dont even own an xede.

This must be out of town or gone early because of thanksgiving. I did recieve my XEDE and ECU and the same problem is occuring however. My car is now throwing a code (I cant check the code til tommorrow) and the after several times starting my car and the xede installed the led stayed soild orange and my car was running like it should be.

What would cause the XEDE to stay solid orange while my car is running. Before this occured I turned the car off and left the key in the on position and the soild green light went to a dim green light.
