Help! Car Won't Idle After V3 Upgrade

Hi All,

Please help, I know I'm about a year behind most of you.

I just upgraded the firmware in my XEDE from V2 to V3 and now my 03 EVO will not hold idle.

After flashing the maps into my XEDE, my car started have trouble idling. It was trying to idle at around 600 RPM. My car normally idles around 950 RPM without the XEDE. It idled normally with V2.

Firmware: xprocv3_1_09Test2.hex - Updated using XUpdate V2_0_0_0.exe
XMap: XMap3 V3_0_2_9.exe
Map: Converted SubZero 91 Octane.XMD
Car: completely stock

Thanks for your help

Stan

Couple quick questions:

1) What is the light on the Xede doing now?
2) If you disconnect the Xede how does the car idle?
3) Is it only idle or is the car having problems driving as well?
4) Have you tried returning the firmware back to V2?

Did you change the AN0s to Freq0s when you imported your V2 map?

1) I was dumb and mounted the XEDE right after I updated the firmware. I couldn't see the LED after I updated the firmware. I did get a confirmation that the firm ware was updated correctly.
2) The car is completely back to normal after disconnecting the XEDE.
3) Didn't try driving it since I couldn't get it to idle.
4) Not yet. I stopped using the XEDE because I was getting the check engine light once in a while on V2

Hi Dustin,

Yes, I did change the AN0in's to Freq0in's in "Load Variable" within all 4 maps, additionally, I made the same changes in the "Input Variable" and "Output Variable" in MAF and switched to "Log-based scaling" under features.

Thanks

Here are a couple things I would try

1) Load the V330 non smart map from the Vishnu Website This is not what you want to run with but if it idles with this map then we can be certain it is a problem with your map.
2) Download the map from the Xede and check it. Something may have become corrupted during the upload process or the map may not have ever been uploaded correctly.
3) Pull the glove box back off just for now and check the Xede lights. It should be solid green after the car starts. Anything else and there is a problem.
4) Reinstall 3.2. Something may have happened during the upgrade process.

Just out of curiosity -- did you ever pull the code from the CEL?

Good luck,

These are the two maps I converted from V2. They both had the same problem with the idle.

Please note, I changed the file extension from .XM3 to .txt so that I could attach the file.

Thanks.

Thanks JTB,

I'll give it another shot this weekend. If I recall correctly, I was getting P300 once or twice each week on V2. Pull the XEDE out, the problem went away.

Thanks
