How much HP can you expect with a base map....
...on a bone stock car? Or am I just best off going with a flash?
I used to have an Xede for the past 9 months on my turbo Miata (which I just traded in on the EVO, so I just sold that Xede for $850)... obviously here, xedes are cheap for evos. LMK if its worth the money.

Actually it would be best to have BOTH. Buy the tractrix cable and you can reflash the stock ecu yourself. I like the Xede because you can switch between multiple maps quickly and it provides a finer degree of control. There's a number of Xedes in the for sale section in the sub-$200 range. Pick one of those up then order the tractrix cable. Then you'll be all set for practically any modifications you want to do.
20 hp is a pretty safe estimate on a stock car. With a full exhaust, double that figure.

There are a couple of things that the Xede cannot do. You can't change the rev limit with the Xede, nor can you remove the boost limit or change idle settings.
