Tuning is off/help diagnose
Hello,
I am not sure if Shiv can answer but here is my problem.
Some days, I start my car and it has a loss of power and torque until 3000 rpm at which point everything hits like a brick and goes. I have to stay above 3000 rpm or it feels like it's bogging down.
Some days, i start my car and the response and low end torque is much improved. From low rpm in low or high gear, it will just pull in a linear fashion.
This seems to have started when Shiv changed the ECU flash during a tune with a newer version.(of course I could be wrong).
My idle quality since has been poor (it fluctuates a lot and is higher when cold). Before that, it was rock solid.
Since I am sensitive to drivability, this is bothering me and I would like to figure this out. Any help is appreciated. Thanks,
Sigfrid

I am running an Xede with smart.
Mods are,
Headers, O2 housing, Vishnu turbo back std exhaust with high flow cat
264/272 cams + cam gears set at +1/-1, Walbro pump, stock intake with K&N drop in, EVO 9 white rabbit TME turbo, LICP, Boost emulator (bleeder)
My new latop does not have a d-sub connector so I am not sure if I can connect to the Xede and check the map. I am really trying to optimize the idle to 3000 rpm power band.

I changed the cam settings when I moved to Colorado. With the altitude, my car was running like crap. The issue with the on/off performance when I start the car started in Houston on my last custom tune with Shiv. He reflashed my ECU. From then on, the idle was not as good. The spool up was slower. When I got to Denver, Shiv re-tuned it, but not much changed on my maps. I just think it is odd that based on the car starting, it behaves differently. I think there is something wrong with the base settings somewhere. The car acts like it is heat soaked. That is a decent explanation. Thank you for ofering your map but I think mine should be decent enough since Shiv did it himself.
Hey Sigfrid, make sure you don't have a leak between the maf and the turbo. If the hose from the valve cover to the turbo inlet pipe gets disconnected, is dry rotted (or any leak in the inlet hose) it will make the car run like you describe.
If you run a drop in filter clean the maf, mine gets covered with soot from the clean houston air, you may of taken some from here.
BTW I had that same base map and never had any idle issues( its just timing, AFR and rest is same as stock).

Thanks Jorge,
It's good to hear from you. I hope you are doing well. I have never cleaned the MAF and since I changed turbos a few times, I will check all the connections on the inlet pipe. I may as well clean my K&N filter. Thanks for the advise. Once this is out of the way, I can see if the car performs in a more repeatable way.
