93 vs. 94

Shiv - are seeing differences between 93 & 94 octane with your tuning? I'm just hoping to get a couple extra horsies using the 94 stuff!

FWIW, I get worse gas mileage using 94. I don't know what that means performance-wise. I'll stick with just 93.

thermodynamics & common sense

Just thinking about the gains stepping up from 91 to 93 octane.

Common sense would say that you should expect another 50% from those gains.

Richard Feynman is probably rolling in his grave!!

I don't have any maps which were tuned on 94 octane yet. But I think the maps for 93 will be just fine. Remember that the higher octane will make the car run better despite running the same map. It will be more resistent to heatsoak induced ignition retard caused by knock sensor activity. Consider running 94 octane with the 93 maps to just be an extra bonus.

Cheers,
shiv
