I believe the cable is just a DB9 serial cable with one male connector and one female connector. My laptop doesn't have a serial port, so I purchased one of those USB to serial adapters and that works great with the latest version of XMap 2. However, this connector does not seem to work well on previous versions of XMap.

Going to comp-usa tonight. I might need to do the same thing. I have a 1997 model Toshiba that I'm only using for car stuff. But Xmas is around the corner and Hope fully I will have a brand new Dell Laptop just for car stuff
