Shiv, impact of MAS damage?
Shiv, impact of MAS damage?
Shiv,
I'm planning on going up to your shop, unless you have something going on in So Cal anytime soon.
But i have a question, when i was installing my intake (which i later removed), i damaged a little part of the MAS. Towards the bottom of the piece, some of the fins were a little bent. Im wondering if this could potentially hinder performance.
The reason is, after i installed the intake (and concurrently damafed the MAS) i noticed a loss in horsepower. However, when i replaced my stock airbox, and let the ECU reset, i didn't not notice a regain in power.
Im a bit worried that i've lost that power for good, and i dont really know what i should to do approach the problem.
Can you help?

do what you can to carefully try to re-align the fins with a toothpick or something like that, that honeycomb part is essential for the MAS to read incoming air correctly... if you cant do it, you could always try to find someone that can... otherwise you are looking at an expensive mod that you didn't want! Think they are like 250 or more for a new MAS..
