Got the X-flash!!

I'm happy for now and many thanks to Shiv.

Well, I finally gave Vishnu's X-flash a try. I went with the flash for simplicity purposes and user friendly. I'am not the type of person that would spend countless hours on a dyno, tuning the car as I have much things better to do rather than on the car.

Anyway, mods are... HKS RS kit (not recommened), UR dp and straight pipe, HKS Hi-power exhaust. Dynoed at Shivs Dyno Dynamics @ 235awhp without the flash.

With flash.. the most was 255awhp and about 260lb.ft tq. They fluctuate between 250 to 255 roughly. This is on 91 octane.

And one more thing, Shiv is one crazy driver!!!

If I got the Xflash 94 octane map and the catback exhaust, would my boost stay at the same level, or would it drop? I cannot find a clear answer if exhausts cause a boost drop or gain. Would I be seeing a similar gain in whp as a Xede/catback combo with the Xflash/catback combo?

The beauty of the xede is you can dial in the boost (rpm dependant also!!) you will be able to hit your target boost easily as the restrictor pill is removed. Then you can program the boost tables

Thanks for the reply. My problem is that I basically just want to put the ECU in, and run the car. I want a large margin of safety, and really do not want to tune. My concern is whether or not i am giving up alot of power by using the Xflash instead of the Xede. I saw the post where Shiv posted a dyno with remarkable gains on a stock car with just the Xflash, something like 22hp gains. I'm looking for 30-40 whp gains. Do you think this is reasonable with just the Xflash and catback?

I see 30-36 HP gains in person and on the board with xede only on stock cars. I think you will give up little and essentially be at a stage 0 level. 30 whp should be safe and easy If you want and if you get better than 91 oct just get a 91 flash for a lot of safety. Works and Vishnu are great at tuning on the worst gas in the US

So the x-falsh holds boost to redline without a boost controller?

I have been trying to call Shiv , but they say they are moving.

Do they have a 92 flash also?

Thanks
