Couple of unanswered Xflash questions...
1) Since this is the factory ECU that is being reflashed, if I were to take my vehicle in for warranty work or any work that requires them to hook up to my ECU, I'd be screwed, wouldn't I? Solution = ship back to Vishnu to get flashed back to stock? (assuming this wouldn't cost too much)
2) How long can I expect to be without my ECU once it has been shipped to you?
3) Are there any benefits to getting the XEDE instead of the XFlash for somebody like myself who has no intention of ever playing with the existing maps? +60 HP over stock is probably as wild as I will get as I need to keep this car as a daily driver.
Thank you for your time.

Hi there,
The only way for a dealership to determine if your ECU has been flashed is by looking it up to an ECU flashing tool (which independant dealerships don't have) and looking at the checksum to see if the code is unchanged. This, needless to say, is very unlikely. Shipping it back to us for reflashing back to stock isn't a problem either although it's, IMHO, highly unnecessary. But if so desired, we can have it out the door the same day it comes in since the actual reflashing process takes only a few minutes.
As for XEDE vs. XFlash, they have been resulting in very similiar dyno numbers for the entry-level applications we've mapped. There's still some work to do for the higher boost Stage 1+ and Stage 2 maps but for most people who have no desire to user-tune, the XFlash is a perfectly viable alternative to the XEDE.
Cheers,
shiv
PS. Here's an XFlash (on a 100% stock EVO) we did the other day. Stock vs. Stock w/XFlash on 91 octane. There are more dyno graphs on the Vishnu forum.
