BOV - Help

I'm participating in the AA Dyno Day at the end of the month and would like to take the opportunity to add a BOV to my list of mods (since I will be getting the custom tune). Any suggestions on which to go with?

Thanks

Don't get a BOV. Everyone seems to have nothing but problems with them. What benefits are you looking to gain overall? Is a BOV necessary?

The benefit of an upgraded BOV is a resistance to leaking under high boost (22psi and up). However, all the aftermarket BOVs I've tried have induced compressor surge at partial throttle conditions, realling taking a hit on general drivability. I haven't tried all of them, of course. So there might be some good ones out there. Only consider those that are recirculated and not venting to atmosphere (VTA).

Cheers

Shiv,

Don't know if you've tried this one by Tomei....
It looks like a direct replacement and may hold high boost.

Gruppe-S was selling these and they may have some on hand. Don't know if you guys are cool with one another, but just passing the info....

Works sells a combo vta and recirc bov. You get the whoosh noise you like without the bogging.

(I hope you don't mind me posting that here, but it is relevant to the topic at hand.)

I installed the Greddy type-S which seems to be fine. Most of the people at the BM Tranny dynoday kept there stock bov and had no issues - stage 1.

Shiv, how many psi can we expect for 1+ tuning? Also, do you mind if I call you on your cell about the upcoming dynoday at AA?

Thanks

Looks like they spraypainted the stock one silver.

Do the BOVs that you have tried have a secondary vacuum port on the bottom of the diaphragm? If so, do you have it hooked up?

I think the stock one works fine, I have the stage 1+ and tried 2 different forge's 3 stocks ones and a greddy. The stock is the smoothest of them all, also when I shift with the other bov's I get less vac on decel, I get like 19, on the stock BOV I get 22.
