clearly Shiv would be the best to answer this but...they will essentially do the same thing but with Xede you have much more capability for change. you can have two maps on Xede and switch back and forth, you can change maps, alter map settings, and more. again, more options available w/ xede. That's my take anyway.

Just being able to see the fuel, timing and boost tables will help get one up to speed when it comes to engine control. Also, seeing the cause and effect relationship every change makes will be helpful as well. Of course, being able to rely on baseline maps when/if the going gets tough is always a nice safety net. There is a lot of things that the XEDE can do which no reflash, even our XFlash, can come close to matching. Things like load axis extension (for high boost applications), ignition tuning granularity (10x greater than a reflash), knock adjust feature, etc,. It's the only system I know of that is easy/unintimidating enough for a novice to use in a mild to moderate application while still being capable and flexible enough to support 500+hp applications without sacrificing drivability.

Cheers,
shiv
