Stage I iinsidempressions
Stage I impressions inside
Edited to correct some mistakes. At the time I was originally posting this, I was using a friend's wireless laptop outside. I made a lot of typing errors, becasue I kept bumping the stupid mouse pad.

Yeah, I'm happy. Install was pretty quick and straightforward. We ended up pulling the valve cover to hold the cams with a wrench so we could break the bolts inside the OEM gears lose. We did this becasue Mitsubishi had them on A LOT tighter than 65 ft/lbs and to prevent from stretching the timing belt.
I'm thankful that Shiv is upgrading the line to the BCS, because my boost range is pretty dramatic. As I mentioned in another thread, the top range is most likely reading high because I'm using an el-crapo Autometer gauge (read: MY fault for not getting an Omori in the first place). When I go WOT, I see a spike to 25psi, then it tapers down to 15psi by redline. Its not too different from stock boost control in that it tapers, but its just a huge range in comparison. I kind of miss the MBC I had before, because it went straight needle solid to 19psi, then tapered a pound to about 18psi at redline.
I realize that the supplied line is set to go to the tuned Vishnu map, but my gauge is showing a 25-15 drop instead of a 23-18 drop. Again, I'm pretty sure the top end spike is my gauge inaccuracy, but I'd like to have it drop to 18 instead of 15.
I'm considering putting the MBC back in the car until I get the new line froim Shiv and setting it at 18psi. I know I'd be sacrificing some area under the curve, but there's a lot of variance.
Now to the good part, the review. The car feels incredible, especially up top. Shiv's awesome XFlash map and cam gears just DESTROY my crappy old SAFC in power output, even with my unique boost situation. The car pulls like crazy beyond redline, and I upshifted at 7500rpm. First gear is nuts; if it was a little warmer here, I think my tires would lose traction. I'm super happy. Thanks Vishnu Tuning!!!! These parts exceeded my expectations, and that doesn't usually happen.
A big thanks also to Eric and David/MP5 for taking my phone calls in the eleventh hour of the install to verify that everything was correct. I highly recommend this setup to any Evo owner, as the car is stronger than ever! Time to go hunting for some C5s!

You've got the fever now... It's only a matter of time before you get used to all that power and you'll find yourself installing new cams looking to feel the "rush" again.
I've been driving around with Stage 1+ for over a month now, and I find that I've gotten used to it. I need to ride passenger once in a while to feel the rush again. Last weekend, I let a friend drive the car while I rode shotgun, and two more friends in the back seat. When he did a WOT acceleration in 1st gear, even with 4 people in the car, we were all suitably impressed (even me).

I have been wondering what the big difference is between the stage 1 and the stage 1+ on the Vishnu packages. Also, are you guys running the signature exhaust or just standard exhaust?

Be it boost lines or more likely my Autometer gauge or BOV like Smogrunner suggested, I'm still trying to determine the cause.I followed the pictures that Ken emailed me, and saved all my original lines.
Please check this: There is only one small brass restrictor in the OE boost lines, and it is at the turbo compressor side, correct? The other line with no restrictor goes down to the wastegate actuator arm, and the Vishnu supplied line goes to the boost control solenoid connection that is at toward the front of the car. That's how I have it installed.

Here's a pic for clarity. Please ignore my cat, Pedro, as he's being BAD AS CRAP and trying to eat the bleeder line Shiv supplied. The line on the left (top of the J) has the brass restrictor inside and goes to the compressor housing. The bottom line (curved one) has no restricter and goes to the wastegate actuator arm. The line Pedro is playing with (rightmost) is the one Shiv supplied, and that goes to the nozzle on the BCS that is closest to the front of the car. Look right?

OK, update.
I reinstalled the line and although I'm still seeing a pretty dramatic fluctuation in boost, the car is definitely faster. A good friend of mine has a Vishnu Stqage II WRX with vf30 and upgraded TMIC. Before, I'd pull him a bit, now I can pull on him a good deal more. My midrange punch is insane with this big boost jump. The only spot that gets hairy is fourth gear, where I'm sustaining 15psi for a long time. I can't wait for the new and improved line from Vishnu, because the car is already ***** to the faster than it was with these cam gears.
I'm thoroughly enjoying the Vishnu mod path!

Hey Seth,
Glad i worked out for you!!!
Found out another way to do cam gears this weekend my self
Guys if you are thinking of doing this mod don't hastatie!!! BIG POWER UP top. Also compared to all the other cam gears on the markect Vishnu's are best in quility and also installation because they are clearly marked and perset. Unlike others I have seen on the market.

Cool cat
Oh god a Mac
. The lines look right BTW. Yea cam gears make a good up top difference. But Ive got to say the addition of cams make as big of difference as stage 1 from stock. BTW I still havent gotten that "esed to it feeling" with 1+ and there is never a doubt in my mind that it is definately well into the "Fast" category and not quick or sporty nope its FAST!
