Shiv: ? about Xflash and P0300 CEL

Shiv,

Does the Xflash have a fix for the P0300 CEL? The dealers are supposedly going to reflash the ECU to fix it and Al claims his dynoflash already fixes it. See this thread:

The reason I'm posting this is because I'm getting an Xflash tune on the NJ dyno day. I would hate to get this CEL then have the dealer overwrite the Xflash to fix it

Re: Shiv: ? about Xflash and P0300 CEL

If you are not throwing a CEL now, you won't throw it with the Xflash. Two things can induce the CEL, actual misfire and excessive knock retard (which drops the car back on its low octane fuel/timing maps). You can solve the latter by tuning/remapping. But the former would require a change in the ECU's diagnostic code (which no tuner is capable of doing at this time). I suspect the dealership is proposing a flash that would make the diagnostic system a bit less strict. This will reflash over any flash that any tuner provides, however. Worse case scenario is that you send you ECU back to us aftwards. I have all my customer files saved so it would be easy to flash you back.

Cheers,
shiv

That's good to know Shiv. My car is not throwing the CEL, I hope it stays that way.
