tuning for the intake?

Shiv,

couple more questions.

What happens with the Xede when you run an intake? i remember you saying it messes up the signal or something of the sort.

Are you guys able to tune it with an intake, and will it make any LESS power? i understand that it probably won't make more power already.

The only reason i ask is b/c i am getting some piping done, and the big airbox really needs to go...

Re: tuning for the intake?

Nothing happens to an XEDE'd set up that doesn' t happen to a stock car. Aftermarket intake filters tend to upset MAF readings which can make cars idle roughly, run oddly, etc,. It can all be tuned out through custom mapping of course. Just don't expect the end results with an intake to be better than a set-up with a stock intake box/filter.

Shiv,

Did you mean aftermarket filters on aftermarket intakes or did you mean a drop-in will cause problems also?

I am wondering if the Apexi filter causes the MAF readings to skew...?

i have a feeling it does, b/c it comes with specific AFC instructions to tune it.

But then again, that may be b/c the same company makes the intake and the AFc . . .
