60 ft away from Smog

I will make this short. 1.9 60ft, 12.459 at 112mph. 1/8th 8.048 at 86mph. My 1.9 60ft was my second best of the day. Did a 1.8 and couldn't get the car in 2nd gear. One run I totally boned 4th gear with a 1.9ish 60ft . It is pretty cool to have a car, despite its driver boning gears and f-up launches, be in the 12s all day. It definitely has a 12.2 in it with a decent launch even with my Jenny Craig poster child ***(the before picture) driving it. Average 60 ft for the day was 2.0 ouch. I know I suck but I do baby it off the line more than most. Hopefully the twin disc won't kill my drivetrain with this conservative approach. If I get a 1.75 60 ft and don't bone any shifts I will be up there with Smoggy. BTW Stage 1+ rocks!

Way to go!!

Don't be too hard on yourself.

The bottom line is: your times improved from the previous outing and you guys had fun. IMO that's what's it all about.

If I ever get that clutch installed , I'll be making a trip to the track ...someday

Evotomig, My time is similar to yours and with a good 60ft Smoggs. It is kinda cool that we all were custom tuned by Shiv and the cars are performing similarly at the drag track. BTW what was your 60ft,1/8 etc on that 12.4 run.

Smog, My pounding days have been over for a long time. One or two brews and I am fine. BTW I know a 118 trap seems unlikely w/o nos but you are starting a Smog hate club from the guys on the East Coast. His e/t was 12.2 at 118mph and maybe he is running really lean to get those times 12.3 w/o cams and 12.2+ at 118mph. That 118 trap might be a product of the timing equipment. Might be measuring it at the finish line. IMO It is hard to compare numbers from Coast to Coast and from track to track. They are just e/ts estimated times and your car can definitely hang with T-Dawgs and at his track might trap 118. Out here your 12.2s are the fastest I have seen on the stock turbo w/o nos. Your car at the right track might be capable of 12 flat or better with a 1.6 60ft. Maybe we should plan a road trip to Sacramento to run on a faster track. Not likely but if I go out that way again I might have to give it a try. I still need work on my 60s as you have witnessed.

1.87 60ft...at old Sears Point which is an uphill, slowass track.

On may 8th, at Sacramento we have a heads up Grudgenight coming up.
My brother,w/ his Vishnu stage 1 STI, and I are organizing a STI/ WRX vs. EVO shootout that night.

Both you, Smog and anyone else is sincerely invited.(since you're thinking about coming up here anyways)

Evo8powa, Sorry about the problem at E-town and good luck with getting your car back together. I left you a humorous response on the thread you submitted about your problems. Don't take offense but It does bring up some good points of observation. Also will the prices at Mickey Ds be going up to fix and make future mods to the Evo. BTW Can't blame this one on Shiv. And don't you dare blame it on Al or you will be a Works customer and their Evo tuning is a little too conservative for your taste.

Evotomig, I am crazy enough to do it if Shiv can do some fine tuning with his firmware update to smooth out the idle. I like to kill two birds with one stone when I travel long distances. PM me more info and I might take a little vacation out that way. As for Smog he has to ask the boss/off duty supervisor/wife for a furlough so it might be harder for him. I am free again and I do not need a furlough or permission. BTW Smogs wife was very cool and patient at Carlsbad so maybe a furlough is possible. Better yet sell it as a mini-vacation to SF, with a road trip to Sac on Saturday. She might go for it.

evo8power, if you head out to California, please remember to bring a mop and shop broom to clean up after your car.
