Hey Noize,

Quick question. I think I am getting a lot of compressor surge. The car buck a lot when you tap the throttle at low and high speeds. My WRX did this with a VTA BOV. THis is compressor surge right? Is this happening becuase my BOV is leaking?

Hey Tony,

Don't know how I missed this. What BOV are you using? What boost levels are you seeing at this point? Are you flashed so your MAF won't interrupt at 20.5psi? I've never seen the stocker cause surge on an Evo, but plenty of aftermarket ones do, even some of the recirc ones.

I had a TXS Type H BOV on my WRX for about a week. It never caused compressor surge, it just made the car run like total shat.

My stock BOV leaks at high boost and I don't have what you are describing.

Do you mean cracking the throttle just open, or say tapping it at say 50%?

If you mean just cracking it open I think what you are seeing is why some people use a sequential throttle assembly. In other words a small change in a large throttle plate offers a large change in torque.
