I removed my Xede for about a week, and then installed it again, but the car will not start now. The loom looks ok. This is in an Evo 7.

Could it be that I need to upload my maps again? How long are the maps retained if the Xede is removed from the car - ie unpowered?

Anything else it could be? Its not a flat battery becuase when I unplug the unit, and restore the loom to the factory ECU, it starts fine.

As long as the maps were burned into the XEDE, they will be stored in there indefinately. They will not be erased under any circumstance. What color is in the status light when the XEDE is installed with the ignition power on?

Thanks Shiv. I can't check the status light until next week.

 

Shiv, the light blinks red if I switch key on but not crank the engine. When I crank, the light briefly goes green, the car does not fire, then it goes back to red.

What could cause this? I reloaded the map(s) just in case, but it made no diff.

No it came direct from one of chiptorque's distributors here in Australia. Is there any difference between yours and one direct from Chiptorque?
