Xede Firmware update fixed my 0300 CEL

Shiv,
You last tuned my car on April 15. You updated my firmware and asked me to keep you posted regarding P0300 cels. I never had a big problem with 0300's but I had thrown them a couple of times. Well, I'm happy to report that I haven't had one since (except for when I purposely run out of gas in order to fill up with race fuel, so that doesn't count). Also, my idle is much smoother with the cams, but you already know that .

what cams are you using. I am debating between 262/272 or 272/272. Does your car seem to die in traffic. please lrt me know. Thanks.

I have the HKS 264i/272e. Like I said, my car idles very smooth. However, with the AC on, my car does want to die in stop and go conditions. Now that it is summer, I might even pop my stock BOV back on to see if that helps at all.

I should point out however, that my Evo was prone to stalling even when stock in these conditions. I believe my first post ever here on Evom was about my stock car stalling after pulling forward with AC on. With that said, my stalling problem with AC on is a little worse than what it was when stock. I have considered playing with the BISS to bump up my idle a tiny bit - maybe from 870rpm to 900.

I'd like to hear from David@Vishnu on this issue since he has the 1+ as well.

I have 272's w/ the newest firmware and I have no stalling issues. A/C on or off it idles the same. Even with old firmware it has never had an idling problem. I am still running the stock BOV at 23 psi and its holding strong .

Hey Shiv, next time I'm up can I pop one of your Forge BOVs on just to compare to my RRE Greddy type S? If it works better, I'll buy it.

Alex_Alex, I know what you are thinking...

Update: I just removed my Greddy type s BOV and popped my OE one back in. Took it for a drive and couldn't discern any difference in the level of boost while starring at my gauge during a third and a fourth gear pull. It might leak just a tad, but I sure couldn't tell. If I go back to the drags I'll probably leave the stock one in just to compare the difference in trap speeds. If the stocker can manage 113.2 mph or better, it will stay under the hood.

However, the big difference is the idle with the AC on. Wow, what an improvement! Although I was able to make it kind of "want" to stall one time, I could not get it to stall no matter what I did.

I'm happily leaving the stock bypass valve in until further notice.
