Question regarding install of XEDE?

Do you need a laptop to install the XEDE? I mean does the thing come automatically programmed for 91 octane? I can get my buddy to lend me his laptop, but would rather avoid that situation, as it is a hassle. Does anyone know if you can just hook it up to a regular computer? Any help, and time frame for this install would be helpful. Thanks

If you're getting the Xede from Vishnu you can have them load the appropriate map for whatever Stage you plan on running once it's installed, just let them know when you place your order. Currently the Xede must be connected to the car in order to load and edit maps. You can run a long cable out to the car from your desktop if you must for simply loading new maps, as this compromises the ability of not being able to tune and edit in the car if you need to. Installation is pretty straight forward and can be accomplished within a couple of minutes. For someone installing it for the first time 30 minutes or less is realistic. Here's a tutorial for the install http://www.vishnutuning.com/files/ev...Directions.doc

so I was wondering If I want to run a EBC on to my car, How would I tap the Boost line? I know the xede could control the boost on my car, but I want something that is more stable, hold boost to redline, easy to have access on adjusting boost, Plzzzzzz help Thanks

Do you still have to pull and swap out the boost line??? I thought the Xede was 'plug & play'.

it's slightly more complicated...you have to play with one wire from the ECU and take out that damn metal ball in the boost line...

Ahhh... So it's not really 'plug & play': you still have to pull/swap wires from the ECU harness. Thanks!

Just for clarification, We load maps for those who ask us to when ordering. If you did not ask, we normaly just send them out, and let you choose the map for your mods. If you need any help, just let give us a call, or contact one of us via PM, AIM or Email, and we would be more then happy to help you out.
