Throw it in
I guess I'll be the first to reply....
I had a great time at the Dyno day, despite the bad weather. I was scheduled to be dynoed at 3:00PM but I was having my cams, gears, and head studs installed at 9:00AM first, so I was there to see a majority of the cars run. I saw 2 WRXs gain 40WHP just from a reflash and tune, which I found very impressive. This may be typical for WRX owners, but since I never saw it before I was impressed.
My car was the first Evo of the day to spin the rollers, I ended up being dynoed at 1:00 due to some issues with UPS not bringing the shipment of XEDEs in. My list of mods...
Megan DP
Perrin TP
B&B Cat-Back
Greddy Type-S (not single spring or dual spring, custom sprung)
Joe-P MBC (set at ~21lbs.)
Stock Intake w/ Stock paper filter
HKS 272 cams
Vishnu Cam Gears (-2,-2)
ARP Head Studs
Vishnu XFlash, no Xede
Denso Iridiums, one step colder.
94 Octane Pump Gas
My car put down 309WHP and 298ft-lbs before tuning (it previously had a mail-in XFlash), after tuning it put down 324HP and 307ft-lbs of torque. My A/F Ratio was 10:1 from 5.5k up.
A few observations to be made from my dyno chart... I had asked Shiv why he was running the car so rich, since I had heard from numerous people here that if I leaned it to 11:1 I could pick up more power. He said we can try it if I liked, and he leaned it out, as seen in the Blue and Green curves. No power was gained from leaning the mixture. After seein these results we put it back, since I'd rather have the margin of safety with the same power. I then asked Shiv about the people who run just an AFC to lean out the mixture and gain power on cars without flashes. I'll try to repeat what he said as best as I can, but I'll let him clear things up when he gets back in the office... He said something to the effect that when the SAFC modifies the signal to lean out the computer the ECU sees a signal that not only makes it add less fuel, but it also adds timing, so the power gained from AFCs are not totally from pulling fuel, but it's indirectly from adding timing as well. He then told me that power is gained from timing more than from fuel, and he tunes timing first on these cars, leaving the fuel for the safety barrier.
Anyways, I am extremely happy with my results, my car pulls very well, better than I ever thought it could. Drivability is perfect, and now all I'll need is a clutch when this 1+ setup takes care of the stock one. I'll post more info later, but this is all for now.

It was impressive watching hatche's car on the dyno, looked like it wanted to jump off a few times, lol. Wish I had a scanner or I'd post my dyno chart as well but I can at least tell you what magic Shiv worked on my ride:
Stock air box/filter
Greddy type-s bov (custom spring)
Helix DP
Perrin TP & Cat back
XEDE
~21psi
Base line results: 265whp 275ft-lbs
Ending results: 300whp 285ft-lbs
Waiting anxiously for my XEDE to come in the mail now.........

hey what's up Superhatch and klancer97, i did not have time to be on the board but as i promised here is my results: 327 whp, 327 ft-lbs i was kind of hoping for more since i upgraded the intercooler but as soon as i drove the car i had a big grin on my face, first and second gear is just plain crazy. i got the xflash and i am waiting for the xede. my car is weird the same numbers on power and torque. from before i gained 47 whp and 62 ft-lbs. all i can say is that Shiv is the man.
