Exclamation Vishnu: XEDE, CEL question ... need answer ASAP

Hi guys,

My car blew the intake hose off the throttle body this morning and as a result threw a CEL. Happened at (my) highway speed ... loud pop ... immediately stepped on the clutch ... shortly thereafter engine died ... pulled over ... popped hood ... saw loose hose ... started swearing like a sailor ... them put the hose back on (I have spare clamps in the car since this has happened once before) ... then drove to dealer.

So - I'm guessing that I need to have my dealer clear the CEL, correct? Can he do this with the XEDE connected? I also have a XEDEflash. I'm just trying to be super careful about this so as not to mess anything up. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated.

While it's in there I will also have them double check to make sure that my cam gears are still at -4/-1 and that the timing belt hasn't slipped. Anything else I should check for? I'd probably do this myself, but I've got a 60 hour work week lined up, so I've got no time.

Lastly, what do you guys recommend as far as a replacement (read: upgraded) intake hose? I know SAMCO is an option, what about replacing the crap hose with a hard pipe (aluminum or similar)?

To reset your ECU, all you need to do is pull the left-most ECU plug from the ECU. Yes, the some one that the XEDE intercepts. This will kill power to the ECU and reset whatever codes that have been triggered by the hose popping. The dealer can also rest your code with their scan tool. This will not erase your reflash. That only happens if they were to update your ECU with new code (like the PO300 "fix") or if they were to reset your immobilizier.

As for IC hose, we sell and recommend the Samco hose kits

Thanks Shiv! I'll talk to the mechanic tomorrow and have him read the code and then reset it.
