1. My evo rattles at around 3k rpm. i can feel the exhaust rattling. what do you guys think this is? just a lose bolt? it has a metallic resonation and is pretty loud.

2. Past 5k rpm in 4th gear i feel like i can hear air escaping somewhere. It doesnt pull as hard as it should. Do you guys think if i install my samco hoses that the leak might stop? my boost gauge reads around 18-19 psi after tapering from 21.

Get under that bad boy and check: bolt tightness, exhaust is securely fastened to hangers, check the welds (especially at the transfer case bolt), and see that the heat shield by the CAT isn't super close to the piping. Your boost numbers sound perfect.

Check the bolts on the hangers as well. One of mine came loose about a month ago, the muffler was barely hanging on, grrr.
