Xflash Vs. Xede

I'm planning on getting the stage 1+ with a custom tune, but now I'm thinking maybe a reflash would be a better option since its $500 cheaper. Do you guys think the XEDE is worth the extra cash? Will it give me more power than a custom reflash? Please help me out considering this an important decision.

thanks

I'd way rather have the XEDE. Better resolution and control all the way around, and every identically modded car I've seen on the dyno made more power with the XEDE than the Xflash.

Yeah, I currently have a XFlash stage 1. I'll be upgrading to the XEDE on the SE Dyno Day at Dyno4mance. I'll get Andrew to do up a before and after dyno sheet for you so that you can see the difference. I totally understand though, I went XFlash at first untill I could save the skrilla for an XEDE. It'll definately give you a little more power, but I think that the real advantage is in all the other features that you get with a XEDE. And re-flashing only goes so far with mods.

I have heard of the identical cars producing more hp with the xflash....not that this is always the case, but wouldnt a custom tune x-flash be more powerful then a standard xede.. if you can get both then get a custom tuned xede.

I think that the extra power comes from the XEDE having more "resolution" on the AFR.

Contiplating this one myself. I have an appt. with Vishnu on the 20th for stage 1+. Trying to decide between Xflash or Xede/flash.....

I'm not sure that his sheets will reveal a whole lot. When he was tuned with the Xflash only, I believe he had a bad tank of gas. Otherwise, the xede made a buttload more power (how much was the xede, and how much was the good gas, we'll never know!).

No one, AFAIK, has regretted gettnig the XEDE/XEDEFlash combo from the start. It has all the strengths of the XFlash but is far more flexible (meth injection, 2nd map bank, user-programmable, and new stuff soon to be released).

Anyone from Vishnu have experience with this comparison?

I am aware of the pros and cons of each but I have found very little information on the power differences. Is this because they are very similar?

The XFlash and the XEDE, when custom-tuned, both make the same power. No real performance difference in most pump gas applications.

In other words if you are like me and others addicted to racegas, which equals more power, get the xedes. If you can get your nut on pump fuel get the xflash. Get the xedes you won't regret it.IMO Don't leave 20-30 whp on the table. Because you might live to regret it.

I am scheduled for an Xflash challenge on the 20th. I know that the Xflash challenge includes tuning at one price. Would this be the case if I went with the Xede/flash on the Dyno Day?? Thanks!

I have one further question.
The pill in the boost line is removed with the XEDE but not with a flash. If they make the same power then I am assuming that the power curves are slightly different as the XEDE would spool slightly quicker but each would have the same peaks?

If there is no difference then why pull the pill?

I am sorry if this question has already been answered.

Thanks for the information.
