Greddy SP2 Stainless Exhaust Mitsubishi EVO VIII 03+

It wasn't easy to improve on the popular GReddy SP system. But through customer feedback from over 10 years of use and testing, GReddy redesigned the SP as a full stainless steel cat-back exhaust system that is similarly priced to the original SP system. The new SP2 features a 304 stainless steel muffler canister with extra strong 430 SS end caps that feature a deep, high polish. Large, high volume mufflers provide maximum flow with a deep, pleasing tone and are especially effective when used on vehicles with aftermarket turbocharger systems. The unique outer curled oval tip (115 x 110mm dia.) is embossed with the famous GReddy logo. Employing state-of-the-art robotic seam welding, the single wall canisters feature increased rigidity for maximum durability and life. With over 35 types of internal perforated tubes, each SP2 application is specifically tuned for the best combination of sound and performance. The new SP2 also features thick walled (1.5mm), polished 304 stainless steel mandrel bent piping for better resonance and vibration control and enhanced corrosion resistance and durability. The addition of a GReddy intercooler is one of the best ways to safely increase horsepower in a turbocharged engine. By reducing the engine's inlet temperatures, a denser air charge will enter the engine; this can make more horsepower at the same boost level and even more power at higher boost levels. Even if there is a factory-installed intercooler, generally these stock units are undersized even for factory boost levels. They are usually mounted in awkward locations and become very susceptible to heat saturation. They are not ideal for increased boost levels. Our vehicle specific kits include all the necessary mounts, piping and hoses required to install the kit. All kits are designed with specific cores to provide an ideal compromise of cooling and flow, with the added benefit of style. This is achieved by finding an ideal position and configuration for a wide range of boost levels. Our engineers properly size the number of rows in the core and tune the internal core with either a V-spec. core or with a different inner fin pattern in the R-spec core. All cores are of a lightweight air-to-air, tube and fin design. The high efficiency tube design allows smooth ambient flow for optimum heat dissipation and flow to engine cooling systems unlike typical heavy bar and plate types that disturb ambient flow like a wall, or wing shaped tubes types which flow ambient air so fast there is little time for heat transfer. GReddy intercoolers offer the perfect balance of heat exchanging efficiency and flow. The ends of the cores are TIG-welded and capped off with our smooth flowing heavy-duty cast aluminum GReddy endtanks. Light-weight mandrel bent aluminum piping and/or cast aluminum elbows, complete with hose cuplers, are used to route air charge smoothly to and from the intercooler.

Depending on the application and usage, some turbocharged set-ups require different flow characteristics. To add to our tuning choices, GReddy developed the V-spec. line of intercooler cores with an inner "Micro Grove Tube" design. This design was developed to allow for larger cores that give good cooling with a more free flowing internal core. This is ideal for applications with low to medium-high boost levels in factory turbocharged engines or normally aspirated engines with bolt-on turbo kits.

GReddy's new super multi-tasker is the PRofec e-01. Designed as a combination: boost-controller, data display / logger and e-manage programmer, the e-01 can provide superior boost response, increased boost, warning meter functions, 3channel data-logging, and access to all the programming features provided with the latest e-manage support tool. Even when used as just a boost controller the e-01 has features to smooth out the boost curve. With both an Auto and Manual setting for both external and actuator style wastegates, the new PRofec can alter its new compact, high capacity solenoid valve via various RPM ranges if need be. The large LCD screen, with green elecro-illuminesant backlighting is easy to see. Other standard features includes two preset boost levels, a timed over-take boost and compatibility with our Remote Switching System. Does the EVO2 exhaust have any neck downs at the cat flange, resonator, or muffler? Is it 80mm all the way through like the Ti?

GReddy's Profec B2 is the newest release of their electronic unit. This can be used on any car that is Turbocharged. The Profec B2 measures 1"x3.5" and mounts in the car and remotely operates a solenoid connected to the Wastegate. There is a Hi-Boost feature that can be activated in less than a 10th of a second with a remote steering wheel switch. This is very convenient for racing situations! The Profec B2 features a user programmable boost curve to help maintain smooth acceleration all the way up to redline. Installation varies from 1-3 Hours.

Nearly 22 lbs between the Greddy Evo II and the Titanium. I had boths exhausts in my hands once. Edwin(that is his user name on this forum) ordered his exhaust from the same shop at the same time I ordered my Greedy Evo II. It is day and night, the titanium exhaust is ridiculously light, the welding are man made and not machine made. The brackets on the titanium exhaust are craftsman finish but it is significantly louder as well. There is no resonator on the titanium one and there is a resonator on the Evo II. The SP2 is not very popular at all.
