Another 2.4L GT35R Thread

Hello All,

Last week I did another one of our customers with a 2.4 and GT35R.

Just touching up the tune that was on it as the turbo was cracked on the exhuast side we we fixed that and put her on the dyno to see what she can do.

This was on pump gas only. No meth or water.

I really enjoy this set-up. The 2.4L and GT35R is a great combo and really makes great power.

Did some race gas tuning but had to cut it short as there was a small oil leak that needed to be fixed. Will get it back up later for final numbers.

Thanks,
Mitch Mckee

Great numbers but would expect less lag with the 2.4. Not sure how high you can rev that engine but the usable power is very small. Between 5-7K is where he makes all that power.

Don't get me wrong, there is power under 5K, but the lag is killer from what I see on this dyno.

Yeah it is a bit laggy, but this was fully built block and the full cosworth head so he can take this thing out to 8000+ rpms. A little laggy but overall a very good combination of parts.

I think he was hitting full spool by 4500rpms or so. Need to check the boost plot again.

8k rpms is nothing on a stock head/motor....

Full boost by 4500rpms in anything but 2nd gear is laggy unless it has the .82 A/R hotside which could spool up that late.

Yes but remember this is a 2.4L, not the 2.0

And it does have the .82 hotside.
