Just meaning that the pump is still doing a progressive ramp up to make tuning similar as it was with the smaller flowjet pump. Have you tested the turn on and max ramp up pressure, I was just wondering if the pressure increase percentage was more or less than when using the flowjet pump.

Regardless thanks for the info as I was under the impression that the ground logic of the SMC controller wouldn't allow this pump swap. Great info

Next question, does the spray light still work on the controller? If so how do you have it wired, is their a pressure switch on top of the Shurflo pumps?
I would like to know the model of the pump as well. My flojet just went out on me and this sounds like a great alternative.

Is Aquatic the same as Sureflow? Which model pump should be used instead of the flojet? (Can the delivery pumps be used for methanol?)

To The OP...Can you send me a link or contact info on where you bought your pump.

The pump on my SMC is leaking and I'd like to upgrade.

Im using the upgraded heavy duty pump aem offers for the meth kits pictured here below
http://www.aempower.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ProductID=1432
This is an upgrade from the pump that normally comes in there kit its a lot better might i say and it runs constantly instead of the off and on style which is good for pressure.

Bringing this back, anyone have any info? My Flojet pump is leaking. Im considering trying to find a replacement gasket for the internals, as I do like the way everything works and its never had a hiccup till now.

Id also be open to doing a new pump if I could get some concrete answers to what pump will work properly with the SMC progressive controller and still function with the spray light on the controller. Will any of Labontes pumps work with the SMC kit?

I have been answering this question many times, the answers is still the same.

The flojet pump draws about 4A of current compared to the aquatec pump, drawing in excess of 10A. It could be higher if the pump pressure is stepped up further.

The anwer is... it all depends on the how much current the SMC output transistor can handle. I asked this question but never got an answer. If you can tell me the part number of the transistor, I can then give you a concrete answer.

well, FYI, i am still running this setup with the SMC controller. when i upgraded to the larger nozzle, my pump pressure fell to about 160psi, which is were i wanted it.

And the cooling mist 150psi will work the same.

^Its inside the controller box. Two small screws and the top will pop open.

Let us know what u find so Richard can see if it can take the amp load. i also like to try a Shurflo pump in the near future.

This is a partial answer to your inquiry - The real answers lie inside your pump speed controller. Once the part number is known, I will help you with the whole original inquiry.

yes, it will be inside the box. If you like to rtake a close up picture of the inside, I will be able to identify the item. A picture of the underside of the circuit board will also help.
