Its not a good idea to run these pumps at 200psi and better. The alkycontrol pump can make 250psi. Problem is they are not reliable and the pressure slowly falls changing the tune.

I had a car AEM tuned around the flow of a strong alkycontrol pump with two jets. when that pump failed I tried three new pumps and could not get the volume of flow back to where that old pump was. thats when i quit using meth injection for a while. just got fed up with failing pumps.

These pumps should be internally regulated for best results. AEM, Aquamist, FJO and others use internal by pass to regulate the pressure. The pump will be far more reliable this way. It will pump less but pump more consistently which is more important.

Richard, Bosco121 took some pics of the inside of the SMC controller and said he sent you a few, the one picture of the overhead of the circuit board looks good

Im still looking for some info, Richard said that any of the Shurflo pumps should be good. What does the SMC Flojet pump run pressure wise? Also, what size nozzle comes with the SMC kit, does anyone know?

Im thinking about the Labonte pump for a replacement, or the AEM HD Pump if the Labonte wont work, or also the Aquatec Delivery pump (if theyre Meth safe?) http://www.labontemotorsports.com/st.../DDP-5800.html http://www.aempower.com/ViewProduct....roductID=1432#

I just want to be sure that whatever pump I put in will be able to run like normal as the SMC did, and not have any delay from different pressure or anything like that. Will the Labonte pump function with the Progressive setting on the SMC controller?

I believe the flojet pump have the following flow characteristics Ir draws about 4 Amps. Try matching a shurflo short stack pump (about 6" long).

http://www.perrinperformance.com/products/show/691 - near the bottom, there is a flow chart. It might help.

So any update on how much pump current draw the SMC controller can handle or is rated at?

SMC nozzles (Hago brand) are available in sizes M7, M10, M15 depending on the kit ordered. The flojet pump run at 100psi.

Heres what Richard said thru a message after communicating with Bosco121,

"...his last email he sent me said "it is a 100v device capable of 30A of current. So you can run a shurflo pump without any problem."

Ok so the Flojet pump runs at 100psi, what would happen trying to run Labontes pump at 150psi with the nozzle size not changing? More psi leads to better atomization, but there would be a delay within the pump to reach 150psi that the Flojet doesnt see operating at 100psi?

^^ I am literally in the same boat as you - my SMC flojet pump died. I hate to run new wires and swap out controllers when the pump seems to be the only problem.

Also, I did a custom LED to show the kit has: power (green, spraying( yellow), and low on fluid (red) in the dash so I would either need to remove and replace dash trim or figure out a way to make then work with a new setup .

I ordered the Labonte pump (Aquatec) yesterday along with a new tank, just wondering if I should order the Labonte controller as well.

...From the Aquatec website, it says the 5800 series should not be operated in excess of 125 psi ????
