Stupid Water/Alky injection Question

I have searched and haven't really found the answer.
I dont know if you can think of water/alky injection like this but heres the question,
What is the estimated octane of:

91 oct. + 100% water injection
91 oct. + 50/50 water/alky
91 oct. + 100% alky

Your question is phrased incorrectly... but you already suspected that.

Water is valuable because it cools off your pistons and cylinders. Hot pistons and cylinders cause the gas to burn too early, unevenly, or in the worst case, to explode. Water also "steam cleans" your pistons and cylinders and removes carbon buildups. The carbon can also cause uneven heating so it is very good to remove.

I will leave the discussion of alcohol to someone else.

Evokid,

I think that is one of the best if not the best question I have seen since I am in this forum. Definately a question that many people have thought before.

I want to add another question to that. What are the prices of Alcohol, methanol and water liquid in order to run it on a alcohol/methanol/water kit?

Yo Carlos,
MeOH = ~$3.50/gal ( at townsends/dons hotrod shop)
DI water = ~$1.00/gal
Dont waste your time with higher alcohols.

erm... i think you misunderstand what is going on here. you should see NO power increases from water injection and very minimal increases from alcohol injection. the purpose of the injection is to reduce knock/detonation so you can increase timing and boost pressure by insane amounts. the power increases come from the timing and boost changes, not from the water/alcohol injection directly. clear?
