I just installed the SMC kit and I was going to test it. Now I already tested it before I mounted the gauge and nozzle and it worked.

All I have is water right now, and I was going to test it like the instructions say, 3000 rpm, test button for 1-2 seconds. But is it ok to do it with pure water?

 

as long as you are using distilled water, you should be ok. tap water is not recommended due to the impurities it posseses.
