Front SMC kit, can it pump water?

I am getting an SMC front kit. I want to run 50/50 DA and H20, is it ok to pump this through the kit? Lets say it is the first model they came out with (because I am not sure).

Thanks

Honestly I never heard of anyone just running straight water but I don't see why not.
The main problem I see though is the clorine build up, if you are going to be running any mixture of regular water you are running chances of build up of solid deposits everywhere specially at the nozzle mesh filter.

I am not guessing, I am being real (I have/had 3 SMC kits). Get yourself destiled water, the difference in budget would be an extra $2-3 every month and you will run safer.

Not to exagerate but runing straight water could even frezze in the winter in the northern states or bellow 30's.

My .2c

I was planning on mixing the denatured alcohol with distilled water, not just tap. I just wanted to make sure the pump could handle pumping distilled water through it.

I drive the car maybe one day a week and that isn't even getting on it all the time. I am not really concerened about the costs. By my car sitting so long do you think alcohol would be a bad idea? Maybe I should use meth if its going to be sitting for a while.

Thanks for your help

denatured alcohol is easier to get hold of...but the "denaturing" agents in there...acetone, dichloromethane, methyl ethyl ketone are very polar solvents, not good for the wetted parts within the pump.

stick to methanol, methanol/water

did you get the SMC kit yet?
I am uninstalling mine as we speak.
I am putting it up for sale.
The pump just came back from SMC with the install of the new seals.
This was an upgrade to the pump. I have the controller installed in the coin holder, which I will include. Let me know if you are interested via PM.
