it is a strong function of the temperature of the bulk liquid volume...the closer it is to the boiling point of methyl alcohol(~65C), the more meoh will distill off and flammable it will be

I was just wondering whether people who are upgrading their fuel systems to a larger S.S. line (like the AMS fuel system) could use their (abandoned) stock hard fuel line to transfer the methanol from the rear of the car forward to the engine compartment. It would need a connector from the Shurflo pump to the hard line, but it would be strong and reliable, and in a safe location.
Any thoughts on why this would not be a reasonable alternative to running a line inside the car?

TTP, why would running the Meth line under the car be improper? A braided line or a teflon line wrapped in braid should be "proper" under the car. Not sure about you but the thought of having Meth line inside the cabin/door sills bother me.

that's nice thinking, I might need to take a look at doing that. Right now my line has a braided ss sleeve around it but it wouldnt hurt to get a little more strong and reliable like you said.

The line should be run from the trunk through the door sill up through the front fender grommet to behind the headlight.

There is no reason to run it outside the car. All you are doing is subjecting it to potential physical damage and if it does get hit out there, you will have an engine failure due to insufficient flow volume.
