i recently purchased a AEM meth kit, once i got it i relized it had no fail safe, just a output for "boost safe". any suggestions on what fail safe i could possibly pick up for this thing?

 

I ordered the Snow wastegate solenoid for my AEM kit. It hasn't arrived yet, so I don't have it in, but it will work with the AEM output (orange wire right?). You can find the solenoid on their website for $52 shipped. http://www.snowperformance.net/product.php?pk=14

Yep. Works the same way the snow kit does. The output wire will activate the wg solenoid soon as it detects an error and cut boost. If you want you can wait a week or so. Mine should be in by next weekend hopefully, then I can give you an absolute answer, but I don't see why it wouldn't. You can call up AEM tech assistance and confirm if you want. Their number is 800-423-0046.

I got my AEM meth kit for 390 from the local shop

 

I think I'm going with the AEM meth kit, instead of the Snow which I was originally going to get

 

Paid $425 for mine from local shop + $52 (shipped) for the Snow wastegate solenoid = still cheaper then a Snow kit. It's still new, but given AEM's reputation and amount of money they can put into R&D, I expect it to perform just as good if not better than most of the other kits available. My kit is in, but I am still waiting to get tuned for it on Friday and get the wastegate solenoid put in as soon as it arrives. Then it's time to dyno it again.

 

yeah the kit is a jewel, very easy install and the tank fit's perfect in the little flap that comes out on the left side of the truck, looks clean, i'll post some pics soon.

How hard to install was it?

 

the install took seriously somewhere around 45mins to an hour, no time at all

 

on and Evo 9 with the Evo green turbo tuned say at 30lbs. with meth what pwr are people attaining?
