Raising Boost With Meth
i'm currently running 22 psi on 91 octane and i was wondering how much i could raise the boost with the addition of a meth kit. i plan on running 75% to 100% meth. i'm still using the stock bov and i wanted to see if i needed to get a new one. i heard the stock bov is good for a little under 25 psi. right now i'm looking at the Tomei because it looks exactly like stock and can hold more boost.
the metal ix bov will hold what ever boost the turbo puts out. In addition to the MAP over the poppet, its under quite a strong spring force - push under the poppet and see how hard it is to open it...it will hold
which meth kit will you be using?

i'll be getting the Snow Performance Stage 2 Evo Kit because the price is great and i haven't heard much negative feed back about it. i'm planning on running 75% to 100% meth, but i'm not sure how long the pump will last on 100% meth. someone said theirs lasted 4 years! i was looking into the HFS-5 kit, but it's just way out of my price range. so the Evo 9 BOV will hold even more than 25 psi? what if i upgrade to the FP Green? thanks man.
yep, the stock metal bov will hold boost for stock and the fp green
have you had a chance to read about the aquamist hfs-1? the very predictable on/off operation + the dds3 failsafe - an excellent kit to consider.

Abner, i don't know where u read the stock ix will hold more than 25psi....It starts leaking after 25psi. The real benefits from meth are seen from 28psi +
I went from a GReddy type S that was holding boost, but needs a new rubber diaphragm. Couldn't find the diaphragm so I bought a Forge Evo15 dv instead. Works great.

My $.02 - save up for the HFS-1; you will not be disappointed.
On the stock turbo, I'm hitting about 27.5lbs with 50/50, which will be about the most you'll be able to get, and even then, you'll only hit it briefly and then your boost will plummet to ~22 at redline.

yeah i was trying to find more information about parts and pricing of the hfs-1 kit, but i had no luck. so i'm guessing 28 psi (maybe even up to 30 psi) on 91 octane with 75% to 100% meth?
For me with boost on meth i would just crank my ebc up to 100% and whatever it would hit it would hit...I would rarely hit more than 26psi going down the track unless I was on nitrous in which case I would hit 30+psi here and there depending on the shot...on the street doing rolls on the parkway I would certainly spike pretty high running just meth...but it would never hold it...

most test the valve my applying pressure under the poppet...to properly test it, you have to apply pressure to BOTH under the popper AND above thru the nipple
