There are plenty of people in the UK running a 10% methanol blend with no problems and great performance results. This seems especially popular with Subaru owners. Tesco 99 octane is just 95(90%) + meth(10%). Anyone adding meth to their fuel just has to make sure it is very pure otherwise you could end up separation problems.

remember methanol is difrent from ethanol. methanol is wood grain alchahol and more corosive. try touline or xyline as a octane booster. there is a guide to % to use on here.

The next generation of performance turbo car will likely have DI into cylinder with ethanol and gasoline port injection. Running methanol instead and tuning the boost, DI injection and valve timing would make serious torque. The engine would likely be fairly robust from the get-go too.
